Health, Safety & Travel Advisory
The health, safety, and well-being of all participants are a top priority for the Africa Internet Summit 2026 (AIS’26). AFRINIC, AfNOG, TESPOK, Emara Ole Sereni Hotel, and the relevant Kenyan authorities are working closely together to ensure a safe, secure, and successful event experience for all delegates.

Health Preparedness
AIS’26 will be hosted at Emara Ole Sereni Hotel, which has on-site medical facilities, including a clinic capable of providing immediate first-response medical support. In addition, the venue is supported by established emergency medical response procedures, ambulance services, and access to leading healthcare facilities within Nairobi.
Delegates are encouraged to:
Ensure they have valid travel and medical insurance, including medical evacuation cover where appropriate.
Carry any necessary personal medication for the duration of their stay.
Make use of the hand sanitization facilities provided throughout the venue.
Observe good personal hygiene practices and follow any health guidance issued during the event.
Familiarise themselves with emergency procedures and contact points available at the venue.
Comply with any health advisories or entry requirements issued by the Kenyan authorities prior to travel.
Ebola Preparedness and Monitoring
We are aware of concerns regarding the ongoing Ebola outbreak affecting parts of the region. At the time of publishing, there are no reported or confirmed Ebola cases in Nairobi, Kenya.
AFRINIC, AfNOG, TESPOK, the venue, and Kenyan health authorities are working closely together to monitor the situation and ensure that all necessary preparedness measures are in place. Kenya's public health authorities continue to maintain enhanced surveillance, screening, laboratory preparedness, and response capabilities as part of their national public health preparedness framework. We will continue to monitor developments closely and will provide delegates with timely updates should the situation change or should any additional health measures become necessary.
Demonstrations and Civil Unrest
As with many major cities around the world, Nairobi may occasionally experience demonstrations, protests, or public gatherings that can affect movement within certain parts of the city. AIS’26 organisers will continuously monitor the situation in coordination with local authorities and venue security teams. Should significant demonstrations or civil unrest occur during the event period, delegates will be provided with guidance and updates as necessary.
In case of unrest delegates who are not staying at the conference venue but are accommodated at partner hotels are strongly advised not to travel into the city centre or other areas where demonstrations may be taking place. Should movement restrictions, security concerns, or transport disruptions affect delegates' ability to attend sessions in person, AIS’26 will provide remote participation options where feasible. Delegates will be issued with meeting links and instructions to join relevant sessions online from their hotel or accommodation, ensuring continued participation while prioritising personal safety.
Staying Informed
The AIS’26 Organising Secretariat will continue to monitor security, health, and travel developments before and during the meeting. Any important updates affecting delegates will be communicated through official AIS’26 channels, email notifications, and announcements at the venue.
We look forward to welcoming you to Nairobi for AIS’26 and remain committed to providing a safe, secure, and productive environment for all participants.
